Kids' Football Near Tolworth: 6 Clubs and Academies Compared
Six options for kids' football around Tolworth, Surbiton and Kingston, compared honestly: weekly academies vs Saturday clubs, ages, times, price per session and who each suits.
Short answer: families around Tolworth have two kinds of football to choose from. Weekly coaching academies, including ours, Pro Football Academy and We Make Footballers, cost about £11–£16 a session, and all three offer a free first session. Saturday clubs such as Corinthian-Casuals and Kingston Little League give children a team and weekend matches. Pick an academy if your child wants to get better, and a club if they want to play matches. Plenty of children do both. Below, we compare six options side by side, honestly, including the ones that aren't us.
A quick note on who is writing: we run Konevych FDC at Goals Tolworth, so we are one of the options in this guide. We have kept to facts each organisation publishes on its own website, checked in October 2026, and linked to every source at the end. Prices and times change, so confirm with the club before you book.

Does your child need coaching or matches?
Answer this first, because it narrows the list straight away.
- Coaching academies (sometimes called development centres) run a weekly session built around skills: first touch, dribbling, passing and small-sided games. There are no league fixtures and no team sheet, so every child plays the whole session. You pay monthly or per session, and the coaches are paid and qualified.
- Grassroots clubs and leagues are about the team. Children train once or twice a week and play a match most weekends. Volunteers, often parents with FA coaching badges, run most teams. Subs are usually lower, but popular age groups can have waiting lists, and in older age groups not every child gets the same minutes on matchday.

The coaching academies
Konevych FDC (Goals Tolworth)
That's us. We coach children aged 4 to 17 in three age groups on the floodlit 3G pitches at Goals Tolworth, Kingston Road. Minis (4–7) train on Tuesdays from 5:30 to 6:30pm. Juniors (8–12) train on Tuesdays from 6:30 to 7:30pm and again on Thursdays from 5:00 to 6:00pm. Teens (13–17) train on Tuesdays from 6:30 to 7:30pm. Our head coaches hold the UEFA C licence; you can see their profiles on our coaches page.
One session a week costs £64 a month, or £180 for three months. Two sessions a week costs £128 a month. A single session is £20. The first session is free.
Where we're strongest: teenagers. Of the three academies here, we're the only one that takes players past 14, which helps late starters and club players preparing for trials. Where we're not the answer: we don't play league matches, and every session is at one venue on weekday evenings.
Pro Football Academy (Goals Tolworth)
A national coaching company that also trains at Goals Tolworth, on Wednesday evenings. It has three groups: Discovery (5–7) from 5 to 6pm, Foundation (8–10) from 6 to 7pm and Development (11–14) from 7 to 8pm. It charges £66 a month for one weekly session and offers a free, no-obligation first session. Its website says its coaches are FA and UEFA accredited.
Worth knowing: Wednesday is its only night at Tolworth, and the groups stop at 14.
We Make Footballers Surbiton
The nearest venue of another national franchise is Southborough High School on Hook Road, Surbiton, KT6 5AS. Training is in the school's sports hall: on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, ages 4–7 train from 5:30 to 6:30pm, then ages 8–12 or 8–13 from 6:30 to 7:30pm. It costs £11 a session, billed in blocks of 8, and runs in term time. The first session is free.
Worth knowing: it is the cheapest academy per session here. You pay for eight sessions at a time (£88), and an indoor hall plays differently from an outdoor 3G pitch, which matters if your child also plays matches outside.
The Saturday clubs
Corinthian-Casuals Youth (King George's Field, Tolworth)
The main grassroots club in Tolworth itself, based at the Corinthian-Casuals ground off Hook Rise South. The youth section runs teams from under-7s to under-18s, plus a girls' section. For younger children it runs Footie Club for ages 3–5, and Soccer Six for six-year-olds in Year 1: Saturday mornings from 9 to 10am on grass, £7 a session, boys and girls welcome. It says all its coaches are FA accredited and checked.
To join a team for 2026/27, the club asks parents to email its new-players address with their child's school year, any previous teams and their home town. Fees aren't published.
Best for: children who want a club badge, a team of friends and weekend matches.
Kingston Little League (Kingston)
A Saturday football charity in north Kingston, affiliated to the Surrey FA. Younger children play at Dinton Field and older ones at Latchmere Recreation Ground. Local listings say teams are mixed rather than picked on ability, so every child gets a game. The council directory gives the upper age as under-14, and other listings say up to 15, so check your child's age group with the secretary.
Best for: relaxed, mixed-ability Saturday football for families on the Kingston side of the borough.
How to compare the prices fairly
The headline prices aren't quoted the same way, so work them out per session:
| Option | How you pay | Per session |
|---|---|---|
| Corinthian-Casuals Soccer Six | Per session | £7 |
| We Make Footballers Surbiton | Block of 8 (£88), term time | £11 |
| Konevych FDC | Monthly £64, or £180 for 3 months | £16 monthly, £15 on 3 or 6 months |
| Pro Football Academy | Monthly £66 | About £15–£16.50, depending on the number of weeks in the month |
Then ask what the price covers. Our guide to what kids' football costs in London explains what to look for. The main questions:
- Group size. How many children are there per coach? A cheaper session with 20 children can give your child fewer touches than a dearer one with 10.
- Holidays. Does the price cover school holidays, or term time only?
- Missed sessions. If your child is ill, can they catch up on another night?
- Commitment. Can you stop at any time, or are you tied in for a block or a term?
- Extras. Is there a kit, registration or insurance fee on top?
Which option suits your child?
- Aged 4 or 5 and brand new to football: a coaching academy with a 4–7 group: ours, We Make Footballers, or Pro Football Academy from age 5. For a gentle Saturday start, try Corinthian-Casuals Footie Club. Our guide to what age kids can start football covers the signs they're ready.
- Aged 6 and wants to try a club: Corinthian-Casuals Soccer Six is set up exactly for this, and it leads into the youth section.
- Aged 7–12 and wants matches: a grassroots club team. Add one academy session in the week if they want more time on the ball.
- Already plays for a team but wants to improve: one academy session a week. Choose a night that doesn't clash with club training.
- Aged 13 or over, or starting late: check the age limits first. Several academies stop at 13 or 14, and ours runs to 17. See is my child too late to start football?
- Weekends are full: a weekday academy, with no fixtures to fit around.
What to check, whichever you choose
Price and location aren't the whole story. Before you sign up anywhere:
- Coaching qualifications. Ask which badges the coaches hold. Our guide to football coaching badges explains what UEFA C, B and FA courses mean.
- Safeguarding. Every coach should have an enhanced DBS check, and the club should name a welfare officer you can contact. Here are eight questions to ask a football club.
- A trial or taster. All three academies here offer a free first session. Use it, and watch how much of the hour your child spends on the ball.
- Your child's verdict. The best club is the one they want to go back to. Ask them on the way home, not in front of the coach.

Common questions
Which is the cheapest kids' football near Tolworth?
Per session, Corinthian-Casuals Soccer Six is the cheapest at £7, but it's only for six-year-olds. Among the weekly coaching academies, We Make Footballers Surbiton is cheapest at £11 a session in blocks of 8. Konevych FDC and Pro Football Academy both cost £15–£16.50 a session, paid monthly.
Can my child do an academy and a club at the same time?
Yes, and many children do. The academy session builds skills, and the club gives them a team and matches. Watch the total load. Three or four football sessions a week plus PE is plenty, so build in rest days.
Do any of these offer a free trial?
Konevych FDC, Pro Football Academy and We Make Footballers all offer a free first session. For Corinthian-Casuals and Kingston Little League, contact the club, because joining a team depends on spaces in your child's age group.
Which options train in Tolworth itself?
Konevych FDC and Pro Football Academy both train at Goals Tolworth on Kingston Road, KT5. Corinthian-Casuals is at King George's Field, off Hook Rise South in Tolworth. We Make Footballers is in Hook, Surbiton, and Kingston Little League is in north Kingston.
