6 min read Updated

Short answer: Goals Tolworth is on Kingston Road, Surbiton, KT5 9NT, by the A3 at Tolworth. The car park is free and sits right in front of the building, but it fills up on weekday evenings, so allow ten minutes. Walk in through the main doors at the front, past reception and the bar, and out through the rear doors to the pitches. Bring boots for artificial grass (no metal studs), shin pads, a water bottle and a warm layer. Arrive 5–10 minutes early so you can hand your child to the coach in person.

We run Konevych FDC's weekly sessions at Goals Tolworth, so this is the guide we wish every new family had read before their first evening. If you searched "Goals Tolworth" to book a 5-a-side pitch for yourself, that's done with Goals directly. This page is for parents bringing a child to kids' football training.

Where is Goals Tolworth?

The address is Goals Tolworth, Kingston Road, Surbiton, KT5 9NT. It sits at the Tolworth end of Kingston Road, close to the A3 and opposite Tolworth station. Search for "Goals Tolworth" or the postcode in your maps app.

Families drive in from Surbiton, Kingston, Berrylands, Hook, Chessington, New Malden and Worcester Park. From most of those areas it's a short drive along the A3 or Kingston Road. Our Goals Tolworth page has a map and a "Get directions" button.

Is there parking at Goals Tolworth?

Yes. Goals has its own open-air car park in front of the building, and parking is free. According to the AccessAble guide to the venue:

  • There are 6 Blue Badge bays, the nearest about 5 metres from the main entrance.
  • There is no height barrier, so vans and roof boxes are fine.
  • There is no marked drop-off point, so park rather than stopping in the entrance.
  • You don't cross a road between the car park and the entrance.

The catch is evenings. Playfinder's listing for the venue notes that spaces are limited and parking is easiest during the day and before 5pm. Our sessions start between 5pm and 6:30pm, so give yourself ten minutes to find a space. If you're running late, don't wait in the entrance with your engine running. Park, then walk your child in.

Can you get there by train or bus?

Yes, and for older children it's often easier than driving.

  • Train: Tolworth station (South Western Railway) is a few minutes' walk away.
  • Bus: the nearest stops are Tolworth Station (Stops A and B) on Kingston Road, about 150 metres from the entrance.

Three bus routes stop there:

  • K2: Kingston Hospital, Kingston, Surbiton, Tolworth and Hook.
  • 406: Kingston, Surbiton, Tolworth, Ewell and Epsom.
  • 418: Kingston, Surbiton, Tolworth, West Ewell and Epsom.

From Surbiton or Kingston, any of the three works. Check live times on the TfL Go app before you leave.

How do you get from the entrance to the pitches?

This is the part new parents ask about most, because the pitches are behind the building, not next to the car park.

  1. Go in through the main entrance at the front of the building, facing the car park. There is a short ramp up to heavy double doors that you pull towards you.
  2. Reception is a few metres inside. The Goals bar is on your right as you walk in.
  3. Walk through to the rear doors, which open straight onto the 5-a-side pitches and the sports field.
  4. Find your child's pitch. The pitches are fenced 3G cages with names and numbers on the boards. Our Tuesday groups currently train on pitch 6, the Nou Camp. The Thursday group trains on pitch 3, which has a large "Estadio Azteca" sign behind the goal. Pitches occasionally change, so check the timetable on our venue page on the day.

Look for our coach setting out cones. If you can't see us, message us on WhatsApp and we'll come and find you.

Toilets, changing rooms and the bar

Take younger children to the toilet before you hand them over. Once a Minis session starts, a toilet trip means a coach leaving the group.

  • Toilets are inside the building, off the main corridor near the entrance. That includes an accessible unisex toilet with baby changing.
  • Changing rooms are about 10 metres from the main entrance, close to the doors out to the pitches. Children can arrive already in kit and just change into boots.
  • The Goals bar serves hot and cold food and snacks, and children are welcome in it. It's a warm place for younger brothers and sisters to wait on a cold night.

What should your child bring?

  • Boots for artificial grass. Goals pitches are 3G, so choose boots marked AG (artificial ground), astro trainers or moulded studs. Metal studs are not allowed. Clean trainers are fine for a first visit.
  • Shin pads if you have them. Don't buy a pair just for a trial.
  • A full water bottle with their name on it.
  • Layers. The pitches are outdoors and floodlit, and from October onwards it gets cold quickly once the sun goes down. Add a hat and gloves in winter, and a waterproof when rain is forecast.
  • No jewellery. Take off earrings and watches before the session.

For cold-weather kit in more detail, see our winter football training guide for parents.

What happens when you arrive?

Arrive 5–10 minutes before the start. That gives you time to park, walk through and meet the coach, and it means your child joins the warm-up calm rather than rushed.

Hand your child to the coach in person at the start, and collect them on time at the end. The coach needs to know who has arrived and who is going home with whom. If you'd like to stay and watch, ask the coach on the day.

If it's your child's first session, our guide to what to expect at a free football trial walks you through the hour itself. For the weeks after, read your child's first month of football.

Common questions

Is parking at Goals Tolworth free?

Yes. The car park in front of the building is free for everyone using the centre, and it has 6 Blue Badge bays. It gets busy on weekday evenings, so allow a few extra minutes.

Is Goals Tolworth accessible for wheelchair users?

Mostly. There is a ramp to the main entrance, but the doors are heavy, and the route from the car park includes dropped kerbs, so some people may need help. Inside, the floor is level, and there is an accessible toilet and an accessible shower. The rear doors to the pitches are level. The AccessAble guide linked below has full details and photos.

What if it rains?

Sessions run outdoors on floodlit 3G, so light rain doesn't stop us. Dress your child for the weather. If the weather is bad and you're not sure whether the session is on, message us on WhatsApp before you set off.

Can I book a 5-a-side pitch through Konevych FDC?

No. Pitch hire and adult leagues are run by Goals itself. We only run kids' football training there.
