Children's football in London costs anywhere from a few pounds to £40 or more per session. That range is wide because the offers behind it are different. Here is what each price level usually buys, so you can compare like with like.

Typical prices in London

What is in our price

At Konevych Football Development Centre in Tolworth, the first session is free. After that, a single training session costs £20, and plans bring the price per session down to £15 to £16.

What changes the price

  • Coach qualifications. A UEFA-licensed coach costs more than a volunteer or a student. It also changes what your child learns.
  • Group size. A session with 8 children is a different session from one with 30.
  • Venue. A floodlit 3G pitch with free parking costs more than a school hall or a muddy field. It also means sessions run in the rain.
  • Age grouping. Separate groups for Minis (4–7), Juniors (8–12) and Teens (13–17) need more coaches and more slots.
  • Plan length. A longer term lowers the price per session. Six months works out at £15 a session, against £16 on a one-month plan.

Questions to ask before you pay

  1. Can my child try a session first, and is it free?
  2. Who coaches, and what are their qualifications?
  3. How many children are in a group?
  4. What happens if we miss a session or the club cancels one?
  5. Is there a joining fee, a kit charge or a hidden extra?
  6. Can I leave without a long contract?

A good club answers all six without hesitating.

Do not forget the extras

  • Boots and shin pads: a one-off cost. A basic set is enough to start.
  • Kit: some clubs require their own shirt. Ask first.
  • Travel: a cheap session that needs a 40-minute drive is not cheap.
  • Holiday camps: usually priced separately, per day.

How to pick the right option

If your child has never played, start with a free trial or a cheap community session. If they like it, move to a club with age-grouped coaching, because progress at that stage depends more on the coach than the price. Choose 1-to-1 only to fix a specific weakness once the basics are in place.Book a free trial session and see whether the sessions are worth the price before you spend anything.

Common questions

Is £20 a session expensive?

It is the single-session rate, for families who want to pay as they go. A weekly plan brings the cost to £15 to £16 a session.

Is there a joining fee?

No.

Can I pause or cancel?

You can cancel a plan. We do not offer pauses.

Do you run in the rain?

Yes. The pitches are floodlit 3G, so sessions run in the rain. In severe weather a session may be cancelled.
